In a world full of confusion and false hopes, the most important message you will ever hear is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, what exactly is the Gospel?
We have all sinned. Look honestly at your life. We have lied, lusted, coveted, stolen, hated, and blasphemed. Our thoughts and actions reveal hearts that are deceitful and desperately wicked. The Bible is clear:
Because God is perfectly holy and just, our sin separates us from Him. We are all worthy of hell eternal punishment for rebelling against our Creator. As Romans 6:23 declares, “the wages of sin is death.” James 2:10 cross-links this truth: break one point of the law and you are guilty of all. This is not popular teaching. It is the truth straight from the infallible Word of God. Your conscience bears witness.
Yet God had mercy on us. Despite our rebellion, the Lord looked upon us with compassion. In love, He sent His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, into the world. Jesus, fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life. He was tempted in every way yet without sin. Then, at the appointed time, He went to the cross of Calvary.
On that cruel cross, Christ took our place. He bore the wrath of God that we so rightly deserved. The innocent died for the guilty.
His blood was shed to pay the price for our sins, to cleanse us and reconcile us to God. Isaiah 53 and 1 Peter 2:24 link the Old Testament promise to its New Testament fulfilment: “He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities… by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Three days later, He was resurrected. Death could not hold Him. The tomb is empty! This victorious resurrection proves that the sacrifice was accepted and that Jesus has conquered sin, death, and hell.
The response God requires is simple yet profound: believe in Him. Those who repent turning from their sins and place their faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross will inherit eternal life. Not by works, not by being “good enough,” but by grace through faith.
My friend, this is the Gospel the good news! The bad news of our guilt makes the good news of Christ’s mercy shine brighter. Repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ today. He stands ready to save you.
The Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God. This truth is vital. It is not about what we want to hear; it is about what God has declared. Call upon His name and receive the gift of eternal life.
