Urgent Message to Non-Christians
Do you know my friend what happens a moment after you die? What happens to all those cares and stresses of your life? What happens to you once you have breathed your last breath?
Some say you will just cease to exist. But where is your evidence for such a claim? There is none. Not one iota. In fact all men across time and epoch have assumed an afterlife. As with so much creation testifies to the workings of God. For energy does not die. Let us not take this analogy too far. Just know that energy does not die. You do not consist just of energy. You have a soul and a spirit. So where will your soul be a moment after death?
The Holy Bible says:
Yet how will you return unto God if you are unholy? For the Holy Bible also says:
For if you have NOT holiness, you will NOT see the Lord.
In fact if you have not holiness then you will face God’s wrath:
For apart from the Lord Jesus Christ we are not holy. Why is that, do I hear you ask?
Well answer this questionnaire. Have you:
- Worshipped anyone or anything other than God?
- Ever valued anything more than God?
- Ever taken God’s name in vain?
- Have you ever been disrespectful to your parents?
- Have you ever been angry with anyone without a just cause?
- Have you ever looked lustfully at someone who’s not your spouse?
- Have you ever taken something that didn’t belong to you?
- Have you ever lied?
- Have you ever wanted what someone else has?
Then you have transgressed God’s law. You have departed the state of holiness. And if you are no longer Holy, then you CANNOT see the Lord.
But where will you go if you do not go into the presence of the Lord? For if you are holy, then you are righteous, but if you are unholy, then you are unrighteous. The Holy Bible makes your destination crystal clear:
But “I’m a good person” I hear you shout. I am sure by man’s standards you are a good person. You are kind. You always try to do the right thing. For if it were man who determined where you went after you died then you would be okay. For man has low standards because he is NOT holy. But you know deep down that there is an absolute justice. You know because once when you were young some scrote transgressed you. Maybe they took something that was yours or maybe they hurt you. And you cried for justice. Your acknowledgement of justice is deep within your heart. But a man will by his nature minimise his own injustice, yet God does no such thing. He holds you to the above standard. How many times have you lied? How many times have you lusted? How many times did you talk back to your parents? This makes you by your nature unrighteous. You might not like it. You might think of it as extreme. But my friend, God sees from a standard of divine justice.
This message is not a message of judgement. It is a message of hope. Maybe I got it right earlier and you do see yourself as a good person. Yet now you reflect on how perfect your conduct is. Or perhaps, maybe you’ve done something the world sees as bad. Maybe you’ve been to prison. Maybe you’ve hurt or disappointed people. Maybe you feel like the black sheep of your family. My friend, all is not lost. For God has given you a gift. That gift is His own Son. His Son will blot out your wrongdoing. It will be forgotten. You will be a new man or woman.
In God’s courts there’s no community service. There are no young offenders. In God’s court sin demands death:
If you disobey God, you will certainly die. For the wages of sin are death (Romans 6:23).
Yet the Lord accepted a proxy. A life for a life.
You see that offering blotted out the sin of Abel. Then he once again could see the Lord. Yet for every sacrifice man would give, he would surely sin again.
So the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is fully divine and fully human, who led a sinless and perfect life was offered on the cross in your place. This is the Gospel:
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15
He was on the cross. He paid for your sins. The price of your sins, yesterday, today and for the rest of your life; demand your life (death) and your separation (unholiness). Yet on the cross the Lord Jesus took all the wrath (1 John 2:2) upon Himself. But look at verse four. He did even more than that. He defeated death as evidenced by His resurrection.
This payment for ALL your unrighteousness has been made. It is a gift to you. Like all gifts however, it is only of value if you accept it? Will you accept the Lord Jesus Christ today?
How do I accept this gift?
Imagine you are going to abseil down the side of a building. You can look at all the evidence around you. The rope looks in good condition. The instructor is trustworthy. Even all that evidence is worthless unless you take the leap of faith to lean backwards over the side. Once you do that, the rope tightens and you can walk down the side of the building. This is what salvation is like. There is plenty of evidence. It is utterly self-evident that nature has an intelligent designer. The Holy Bible’s inspiration is deeply evidentially compelling. There are countless reliable witnesses to the truth of the Gospel. You can look at all of that. But to accept the gift of salvation you MUST take that leap of Faith off the edge. Fall back into the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ. You will not regret it. Nothing will be the same.
