The nature of God and Man according to the Holy Bible

1. God’s nature is one God in three persons. (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, John 14:16-17)

a) Father - Yahweh (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 64:8)

b) Son - Jesus (John 1:1, 14, Colossians 2:9)

c) Holy Spirit - Paraclete (John 15:26, Acts 5:3-4)

2. Man’s nature is also three-fold (1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 4:12).

a) Body - the vessel we currently occupy until the resurrection (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Genesis 2:7)

b) Soul - the eternal essence of who we are (Matthew 10:28, Psalm 42:5)

c) Spirit (Ecclesiastes 12:7, Job 32:8, James 2:26)
